Hi folks

Ive just had a little google search but thought id ask here as well, im just wondering if anyone has any tried and true natural remedies for whatever it is that eats leaves on veges and herbs?

Sounds like crushed garlic in water sprayed on could be a goer? Or peppermint oil in water?

Theres no snails around that I can see so Im guessing its a really small little fly/bug that I can sometimes see in the air.

Oh and I live in Melbourne, Australia, so its spring here, if that is of any assistance!

Any ideas/tips?

Thanks heaps.

Cheers,

Ash

A little bit of rubbing alcohol and/or dish soap diluted with water in a spray bottle works really well.

I sometimes add in a little bit of tea tree oil as well - this is as effective as the peppermint oil and smells nice. :)

Use a one to eight formula.

I'm having a hell of a time with cabbage moth grubs. Moths are white, the grubs are green and have a hell of an appetite for my mizuna lettuce.

Sadly, I have not found a spray that works yet. I do find standing over them first thing in the morning and picking the grubs off and dropping them into a bucket of water does wonders. Takes about 3 days and they're all gone. I have not been able to train my beagle to eat moths......yet.

If you find a rememdy that keeps your veges and herbs safe to eat, and actually works, I would love to hear it.

Goodluck.
